7 Gypsies

A young architect who wanted to be a painter met an Australian school teacher with a penchant for collecting things. They married and traveled the world together, having 7 kids on 3 different continents. As age mellowed them, they settled in the southwestern US and began designing for the scrapbooking industry, drawing upon a lifetime of traveling and experiences. They named the little company in honor of their 7 beautiful children.

How we got our name...

To break with the past, we took the family on a summer road trip through France, Spain and Italy for a couple of months. As the trip progressed, it became clear that what we would really love to do was to take our style of journaling and memory keeping to the growing world of scrapbooking. We had a pretty good idea of what the brand would look like since we had been collecting and producing things for our family for years.

But what to call our new, little company?

We had rented a large, one of a kind, white van (a Peugeot Boxer) for our trip. It was a perfect size. One beautiful day in the south of France, we were forced to an abrupt stop when a procession of large, white vans (just like ours) spilled out of a field onto the road in front of us, bringing the holiday traffic in both directions to a grinding halt. Being at the front of the halted traffic in our big white van, we suddenly realized that we looked like a part of the traffic-stumping, white van group and that we seemed to have the job of stopping the oncoming traffic and allowing the cavalcade to turn lazily onto the highway.

"They're gypsies!... and everybody thinks we're with them."

"We're gypsies... we're seven gypsies!"

(We have seven children but two of the kids had not been able to make the trip so there were only seven of us in the car at the time.)

So 7gypsies it is. Sometimes life is just that simple.

American Crafts

Steve and Alma Mitchell founded American Crafts in 1995. Soon thereafter their sons Jeff and Wayne joined them. In 2001, after a successful tour of providing high quality products to the general craft market, American Crafts decided to focus on their passion for Scrapbooking and create innovative, high quality, well designed products specifically for the Scrapbooking industry.

Since then, we have steadily expanded our product offering and elevated our position within the market. We attribute our success primarily to what we consider our greatest strengths: high quality products and superior customer service. We look forward to many more years of creating awesome tools to make preserving memories fun and easy.

Art Gone Wild

The Artists behind the scenes at Art Gone Wild, Dan and Darcie Heater, reside in Grants Pass, Oregon. Grants Pass is located in the beautiful forested area of southern Oregon. It's beauty, climate and "small town" atmosphere make it the perfect place for Dan and Darcie to raise a family and be inspired to design ... and the perfect place for rafting, hiking, and fishing.

Darcie started the rubber stamp line in 1992. She had published tole painting books for 13 years prior to that. After being contacted by numerous rubber stampers about making some of her tole painting designs into rubber stamps, Darcie had 25 of those designs adapted to stamps. The line has grown to over 4,000 stamps today and continues to grow steadily. Dan and Darcie's designs are also licensed to other manufacturers for use on fabrics and other craft products.

Dan joined Darcie in the business in 1994 when they were married. They have blended their artistic talents to create their ever popular whimsical line of designs.

In 2000 the line was expanded to add scrapbooking products. That line now includes stickers, papers, die cuts and Darcie's exclusive "U-CutsŪ".

"Soooooo, stinkin' cute!"

"You know when you're at the grocery store checkout and they've got a few odds and ends that you really can't resist even though your cart's sorta full? Yeah, that's what the Just for Frill section is feeling to me."

We Love What We Do

Yup, we're folks who absolutely love coming to work each day to play with paper, ribbon, brads, and rub-ons, just as much as you! And that's why we're committed to helping all of our stores succeed.

Jenni Bowlin Studio

I'm Jenni - the creative force behind the company.

He's Jared - the motivator and "mechanic" who keeps everything running smoothly.

Together with a talented and enthusiastic staff, we make up Jenni Bowlin Studio - a boutique company with BIG ideas!

I have been a lover and collector of all things old, worn and tattered for as long as I can remember. There's something about the story each item has to tell that draws me to it - the who, where and when. It is no surprise then that I found my way to scrapbooking more than 10 years ago, and eventually to launching Jenni Bowlin Studio in 2007.

"Vintage" can be found in everything we do. From paper to embellishments, you are sure to find hints of old feedsack fabric or antique typography, but with a modern twist! We call it "Fresh Vintage" - a style uniquely ours.

Before long, word spread, and the quality Kaisercraft brand was soon in demand among craft stores Australia wide.In 2005 a deliberate paradigm shift saw the business begin to develop its Scrapbooking range and also concentrate on developing loyal business with independent retailers. Mrs. Grossman's

From the very first sticker to the more than 700 designs and products in our current collection, Mrs. Grossman's goal is to promote creativity, communication and confidence.

Mrs. Grossman's was launched by Andrea Grossman with a line of stationery featuring illustrations from historic seed catalogues. In 1979, a request from a local retailer - and a happy accident at the printer - resulted in the first roll of red heart stickers. Andrea quickly added nine more designs to the line, and Stickers by the Yard was born. For the first time, shoppers could buy one sticker at a time from a roll displayed at their local store.

Stickers became a nation-wide phenomenon. Children were collecting them, there were nationwide sticker conventions and a glossy magazine called Stickers, and Andrea Grossman was credited by People Magazine for sparking "stickermania."

In the 1980's, Scrapbooking as a hobby and an industry emerged, and Mrs. Grossman's high-quality and beautifully-designed stickers were the products of choice in this burgeoning market. By the mid-90's, Scrapbooking became the fastest-growing craft in the country and Mrs. Grossman's doubled in size, introducing innovative products such as 12-inch-long Design Line stickers.

In 1995, Mrs. Grossman's built a 110,000-square-foot corporate headquarters and printing plant in Petaluma, California. The facility annually produces enough stickers to reach halfway around the globe, and offers the world's only Sticker Factory Tour to more than 50,000 visitors per year. Our manufacturing process and policies are designed for minimum impact on the environment. In 2006 and 2007, Pacific Gas & Electric awarded Mrs. Grossman's its Innovative Leadership Award for energy conservation.

In 1999, Mrs. Grossman's acquired a LaserWeb, and became the only facility in the world capable of producing intricate laser-cuts on adhesive material. The Paper Whispers? line of stickers makes use of this new technology on a wide variety of beautifully-detailed designs.

Outreach to make the world a better place is a company priority. Through a partnership with North Bay Industries, Mrs. Grossman's celebrates the skills of developmentally disabled adults by providing jobs in our assembly department. We've donated more than 10,000,000 stickers to children in hospitals all over the world, and foster the unique relationships between humans and animals by adopting zoo animals, supporting a variety of animal welfare groups, and encouraging our employees to bring their four-legged companions to work.

In the 21st century, Mrs. Grossman's continues to lead the market with new designs and products. The Hobby Industry of America awarded Andrea the Presidents Award "in recognition of revolutionary design and innovative marketing and merchandising" in 2004. Our products and projects are constantly featured in craft and family magazines

My Mind's Eye

My Mind's Eye began in 1999, when owner-designer Marcia Cornell had a stroke of inspiration at her local scrapbook store. She sat down and drew the first edition of the phenomenally popular Frame-Ups line of products, with its ready-to-use, illustrated paper frames and coordinating, mix & match embellishments. The designs were so strong that the success was instant. Five more Frame-Ups releases over as many years likewise proved to be beloved by scrapbookers. But her design sensibilities went far beyond the Frame-Ups products' cute, hand-illustrated look. She also produced sophisticated, textured, mature designs for the award-winning and successful Wild Asparagus, Bohemia, and Tres Jolie lines, among many others.

My Mind's Eye continues to channel her creative energies, along with those of several other artists, in their leading role among the makers of scrapbooking products.
